We’re currently unable to assess the extent of the damage to the boats. However, University security came down yesterday to seal up the caved in door and secured the hanging boats back on racks. Until further investigations into potential structural damage are done the boathouse is unsafe to enter.
We have been in contact with the LUSU sport and finance teams, who have put us in contact with the university property services. Once they’ve inspected the building to ensure it’s safe, we’ll start sorting out any insurance claims that need to be made.
We’re currently looking into modes of action going forward and will explore these options to ensure we choose the right option for the club going forward. Furthermore, a full breakdown on what the Go-Fund me donations will be spent on will also be posted.
We appreciate this update is all a bit vague and doesn’t state definitively what’s going to happen. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page or here for more updates!
Thanks again for all your support and donations!
